🎉 Exciting news! The 2024 College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) results are out, and Camden County Schools have once again demonstrated remarkable achievements! 📈
Key Highlights:
Content Mastery: Consistency is key! Camden maintained steady scores across all grade bands compared to 2023.
Elementary Excellence: Notable increases in Progress and Readiness components highlight the effectiveness of our strategies.
Closing Gaps: While not including Math scores this year, this area sets a new baseline for future evaluations.
State Comparisons: Camden schools shone brightly, outperforming state averages across most categories.
School Achievements:
Exceptional Content Mastery: 🎓 Scores above 90 at Kingsland, Mamie Lou Gross, Mary Lee Clark, and Woodbine Elementary.
Perfect Progress: 🌟 St. Marys Elementary achieved a flawless 100.0 score!
Closing Gaps Champions: 🏆 Kingsland and Woodbine Elementary each scored 100.0.

Mrs. Smith's second grade students are reading Midnight on the Moon in anticipation of their virtual author visit with Mary Pope Osbourne this week!
Dear Kingsland Elementary Family,
All Camden County Elementary Schools will be participating in the READMarathon starting Monday, October 7th and ending Sunday, November 3rd. The goal of READMarathon is for participating students (our READRunners!) to build reading stamina and persistence. This marathon tracks the time read, in an effort to get students to read for longer stretches of time.
Any reading material and minutes count! Students can read at school or at home, with the goal of reading 800 minutes in the time allotted. We can even count the amount of time that students are read to! We will send out reading logs for students to keep track of their time spent reading (Reading Log: https://shorturl.at/Ep1Ty). If for some reason you did not receive a log, please feel free to track reading on regular paper. We are asking that you help your children fill out their logs and return them to school after the storm. Please don't forget to include any time you spend reading to your child!
Malcolm Mitchell will be visiting the top three schools in Camden County, based on average number of minutes read per student. Which means the more we read, the higher our chance to win!

School Closures in Response to Hurricane Helene
Due to the potential for high winds, heavy rainfall and flooding associated with Hurricane Helene over the next two days, and with guidance from the National Weather Service and Camden Emergency Management Agency, Camden County Schools will close all schools Thursday, September 26, 2024, and Friday, September 27, 2024, for all staff and students. The safety of our students, employees, and their families will always be our first priority.
In any emergency, it is critical for parents and students to rely on accurate, timely information directly from the school system or local and state officials. All official announcements regarding schools will be made on the Camden County Schools website, Facebook and Instagram pages, through the Camden County Schools app, on local radio stations – KBAY 106.3 and WECC 89.3, and on the Tribune and Georgian website. Please check one or more of these sources for updates regarding future decisions.
